Researcher Support

Introduction

As part of the Deanship of Research and Innovation’s commitment at the University of Jeddah to creating an integrated and stimulating research environment, the Deanship provides a range of services that contribute to empowering researchers and facilitating their research journey, while ensuring compliance with scientific and ethical standards and enhancing the quality and efficiency of research outputs.

The Deanship is keen to provide support services covering the various stages of conducting scientific research, starting with facilitating regulatory procedures, through providing supporting tools, and ultimately enhancing the quality of scientific output and increasing opportunities for publication in reputable scientific journals.

The following are the key researcher support services provided by the Deanship through the Deanship of Research and Innovation – Female Section:

iThenticate Plagiarism Detection Program

The Deanship of Research and Innovation provides colleges with access to the plagiarism detection program to facilitate the use of the service by university personnel. The program aims to detect and prevent plagiarism and is used for research purposes prior to publication to verify the originality of works submitted to educational institutions.

Researchers may contact the Research and Innovation Agents, or their designated representatives in the colleges, to benefit from the plagiarism detection program.

Research and Innovation Agents in the colleges can obtain an account in the plagiarism detection program through the Deanship of Research and Innovation – Female Section, either by submitting a request via email or by sending an official letter through the Rasel platform. The request should include:

-- Full name in Arabic and English.

-- Official email address.

-- Appointment or assignment decision as a Research and Innovation Agent.

-- College.

Request submission email: dsrk@uj.edu.sa

When using the Rasel platform, the letter should be addressed to the Deanship of Research and Innovation, with the subject line: “Request to Activate an iThenticate Account” or a similar representative subject.

In case of an account-related problem, please contact: dsrk@uj.edu.sa

Researcher Facilitation Service

The Deanship of Research and Innovation at the University of Jeddah provides the Researcher Facilitation Service to support male and female researchers at all accredited educational institutions and enable them to complete the requirements of their scientific research in accordance with the approved procedures and regulations. The service aims to facilitate researchers’ access to the entities or target groups included in their studies, thereby contributing to efficient research completion and supporting the quality of research outputs.

The service includes reviewing the researcher’s request and determining the type of support required based on the needs of the study, whether this involves distributing a questionnaire, issuing a Researcher Facilitation Form, or facilitating interviews. The necessary procedures are then completed in coordination with the relevant entities, and the researcher is notified of the actions taken or any additional requirements that need to be completed.

Through this service, the Deanship seeks to ensure that support is provided in accordance with approved regulations and procedures, while documenting requests and services provided and maintaining relevant records. This contributes to improving procedural efficiency, enhancing the researcher experience, and supporting the research environment at the University of Jeddah.

The service can be requested via email at dsrk@uj.edu.sa  or by sending an official letter through the Rasel platform addressed to the Deanship of Research and Innovation. The subject line should be: “Researcher Facilitation Request – Researcher Name” or a similar representative subject.
